UK visa under points system will now need online application

NEW DELHI: People applying for a British visa under the points-based system will have to now file their applications online.

The British High Commission here announced today that from Monday next, the applications need to submitted online as the UK Border Agency will no longer accept manually completed applications under the points based system.

"Online applications and appointments will be mandated for applications under Tiers 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the points based system. This means applicants will need to submit the application form by visiting the website," a release from the High Commission said.
After making their applications online, they need to print off a hard copy of their application form and book an appointment at their nearest Visa application centre (VAC).

"It is now mandatory to book an appointment online. They should bring this printout to their appointment at the VAC, along with the necessary supporting documentation," the release said.

By completing and submitting a visa application online, the customer saves time when attending the visa application centre, it said.

Premium lounges are available New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chennai visa centres.
